Fork Crowns

The Henry James fork crown is my all-time favorite. I like everything about it, it’s shape, it’s light weight, it’s stiffness, and it’s quality. So, it should come as no surprise that, unless you specifically ask for something else, most road forks that I build will have this crown.

The “Newvex” fork crown is the complimentary crown to the “Newvex” lugs designed by Richard Sachs. This crown is available in both steel and stainless steel.

Likewise, the “Artisan” fork crown from Kirk Pacenti is the complimentary crown to the “Artisan” lug set. This crown is also available in both steel and stainless steel.

The Pacenti MTB crown is designed for maximum tire clearance, great strength, and incredible looks. This crown was modeled after the crown Tom Ritchey designed for Bridgestone many years ago. Kirk Pacenti updated and improved this crown.

The “lugless unicrown” style of fork comes in two basic forms, brass fillet brazed and TIG welded. The photo at left, shows a TIG welded crown. A fillet brazed crown looks similar, but the brass fillets are smoothed out so that the whole thing looks seamless.
